Many people, always tell you to make lemonade, if you are handed lemons. However, I feel that saying can be bland. When life gets stressful, instead try to make the most of it. Navigate its hurdles but understand that you do not need to take it in strife.

Stress can make us emotional, unclear and not thinking straight individuals. Yet, if we learn to relax while working through our issues, we can do so more effectively.

So, how do you make a gin and tonic with a lemon?

You don't, you only view the lemon as lime, and then add some tonic and gin. What I am saying is it is all perspective, you can view a stressful situation as dangerous, or look at the postives. When we stress it is because we see the case as a threat to our survival. However, our emotional system in our brains are ancient and do not understand that our current situations differ from that of our ancestors.

We need to look back at Chapter 3, a previous blog of mine on perspective and how we Chouse to see the world.

Example, Today, I got pulled over because my registration was expired. I broke down in front of the officers. I apologized for my situation and said I would fix it. They told me to let the judge know my circumstances and set it as soon as possible, something I may not have thought about.

See a gin and tonic. I could have screamed at the officers, but I took a lemon and made it lime and got a refreshing gin and tonic. I encourage you to handle stress in a way that makes the situation seem fun, enjoyable and positive. I promise you this will change your life and perspective. ;)
