I was not expecting to write this first chapter on such a personal note. However, it is what is it.
One of my favorite colors is caribbean blue or better described as a vibrant teal. It has been since I first discovered this color while picking out the gemstone for my ex-fiances engagement ring and the design for my first stethoscope. It has been my desktop color for years and even the color of my first phone case. For me, it is who I am. When I would work with energy, it represents a personal touch. It is the color I see in oceans. How does this all fit into the context, you may ask? For that, we will discuss some of my past.
One night, I was debating my life, and the question, "why do I have the struggles and issues I do" came to mind. As I pondered, I discovered that while I am not myLike trauma or negative experiences. I am in fact able to do all I desire to because of what I have been through. With this new perspective I can embrace my past, I understand that it allows me to step into another person shoes. My experiences allow me to understand and relate, where a person who had a "normal" experience could not. My past is my gift, rather than a curse or defect.
As an empath, I feel the world around me, at times this can be overwhelming. However, if I choose to explore the positive energy around me, the world becomes full of amazing experiences. Life becomes ecstatic, it becomes worth protecting and shining. The little things such as, writing this chapter and listening to Lindsey Sterling and various artists on Spotify becomes a defining moment. Going to the local co-op becomes a feeling of intense joy and rest. A park becomes a journey to a new discovery. This is not the life I was handed to live, but the one I choose to create.
Caribbean blue is not dull, it is vibrant and full of energy and wonder, it is a color that stands out, yet is subtle enough to be on the wall and blend in. It is unique enough to not be a color that everyone will love.
I still love this color, because of my love of the ocean, relaxation and an optimistic view of life. It is a color of many traits. In fact, its gemstone is found only in the Dominican Republic as a rare form of pectolite, formed only under the right circumstances. Just like I would not be who I am without my past experiences, shaping me into the individual I am today. In spiritual based practices, life is celebrated in all of its beauty.
This life is held most precious and if Caribbean blue is the color of my life, and my soul than tint everything such a color. I embrace it in all its beauty, flaws and shades.
Bless it be.
